In a bitter divorce settlement from her billionaire husband, Rupert Mannion, Rebecca Welton becomes the new owner of British football club AFC Richmond. She's assisted by her Director of Football Operations, Higgins, who formerly worked for her husband. Her first order of business is to fire the team's current manager and replace him with an idealistic all-American football coach, Theodore 'Ted' Lasso. Ted and his friend, assistant coach Beard, cross the pond to take up the management of the team's 'long, albeit modest' history. Richmond is about to change the way they're doing things, and from now on, that way is the Lasso way. Season one. Includes the episodes: Pilot; Biscuits; Trent Crimm: The Independent: For the Children; Tan Lines; Two Aces; Make Rebecca Great Again; The Diamond Dogs; All Apologies; The Hope that Kills You.
Blu-ray, wide screen; Dolby Digital 5.1; requires Blu-ray player.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Not just another sports series, but a series with a lot of heart submitted by Margaret on July 16, 2024, 8:27pm I didn’t expect to like the show, but it is charming as heck. The characters are memorable and Relatable on many different marks. The story lines are very well written and It is really worth binging with family members if you’re going through a rough time. My favorite character is Roy Kent The Captain later assistant coach of The Richmond Football Club. Every moment he’s on screen, I never stop laughing. I even love The titular character of the series Ted Lasso. When you figure out why he is the way he is it’s heartbreaking But you want to root for him every time. I was glad I had a chance to check out this show. It was highly recommended to me by friends and family members. Please do check it out if you can it’s a great series.

So good submitted by Zekicmom on July 22, 2024, 6:46am Incredible cast, characters you really care about, very funny but also touching and thought provoking. What else could you ask for?

Enjoyable submitted by clarity on August 12, 2024, 10:30am The first couple seasons are very enjoyable, but the series kind of peters out in the third. Relies on some well-worn tropes but somehow rises above them.

It will surprise you. One of our favorite shows...of all shows we've watched. submitted by lmangus on August 13, 2024, 2:01pm This is the show we watch when we've had a really hard day/week/year....you get the idea. We started watching this on a friend recommendation, and goodness...were we surprised! And grateful! It's one of those few shows that has a bit of that extra magic. The writing is fantastic, lots of laughs, but also deals with life issues in ways that is unexpected for a show called "Ted Lasso." At least, that was our initial thought. Sounds like a sports show, and it is, and does it well. But it's also family dynamics, mental health, relationships, 3-dimensional characters/people we found to be honest representations of almost anyone you might encounter in life. So many stories, and back stories. Season one gets you, two keeps you, and three? I'm tired of hearing people complain about 3. Just stop it. It's the Lasso magic. But the title is also the curse: friends are as resistant as we were to watch, so the only way I've been able to encourage others to start watching is to watch again w/them...which I do. Happily. And chat after. I'm on my 4th round, and still find myself cheering...especially Rainbow, or Beard After Hours (both masterpieces, and in my top 10 fave all-time episodes of any show).

delightful submitted by apknapp on August 21, 2024, 8:16pm Wonderful characters, believable drama but keeps an overall lighthearted tone, often hilarious. One of those shows that makes you want to crawl into the TV to live with these people.
