The epic adventure follows the journey of a robot, Rozzum unit 7134, 'Roz' for short, that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling.

I don't know how the director does it, but I cry every time I watch this film. A robot named Roz gets stranded on an island without humans, just animals. The robot gradually learns how to communicate with the animals, makes friends, and becomes the 'parent' to a gosling. When the 'home robots' come to take Roz back, the animals he has befriended band together to help him resist. NOTE: Although it's animated, I would not categorize it as a children's film as there are some scary scenes.
