COMMUNITY REVIEWS

John Williams submitted by DBJC on August 26, 2011, 10:26am This score is probably John Williams at his best. He did an excellent job with this score, telling the story of the rise of Darth Vader. He puts a lot of emotion; his work bleeds though all the scenes of the movie. London Symphony was a great choice because of their high level of playing; they play each note clear and full of emotion and passion. The same with London Voices. Their booming voices gives an extra halo of glory to this score.

Star wars submitted by leenajong on July 20, 2015, 8:55am One of the best!

Good submitted by zmclaugh on July 18, 2018, 5:59pm Great music.

Surprisingly Forgettable Additions submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 9:17am Like the other Star Wars prequel scores, this album derives much of its power from its integration of familiar motifs into pivotal moments; “The Imperial March” is especially prevalent and important, given the movie’s focus on Anakin Skywalker’s turn to the Dark Side of the Force, and “Duel of the Fates” makes an excellent cameo appearance. The original compositions for this piece are surprisingly forgettable, though they do generally follow the film’s action and work well in the context of the film. This score’s best moments occur when it draws on what came before, and while it is not particularly innovative it does fit in nicely among the other Star Wars soundtracks.
