This movie has all the action and excitement of the previous movies, but also explores our current state of security and surveillance (albeit not in depth). It's one of the best superhero movies out there (and definitely better than the first Captain America).

Surprisingly Deep submitted by Meginator on July 28, 2017, 4:48pm Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the new archetypal (but not the sole) example of a superhero film that transcends the genre's inhernt expectations and explore larger questions of loyalty, identity, and politics. The acting and characters are written and portrayed well, the script hums along at a pretty good pace, and the action scenes are big and fun. Moreover, the themes are strikingly relevant to real-world parallels, making this an important film that rewards the introspection it inspires. This film has all of the necessary elements to be excellent, and in large part it is.

The characterization of all of the heroes - Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, Natasha Romanov, Bucky Barnes - were on point. The dynamic of the characters also got some development, which I appreciated. Overall, a very fun movie to watch!

Providing rousing speeches and symbolizing those principles for others….
