This week we're going to focus on a fashion trend that spanned CENTURIES and even are worn TODAY! HOOP SKIRTS! Originally invented to keep skirts away from a lady's legs while she was working in the hot sun as means of keeping cool, we know enough now to accept that sooner or later the realm of FASHION got to them. Once hoop skirts hit the fashion scene, the size and scale of the hoops grew and grew until it was just RIDICULOUS.
