This week, we're taking a journey through the history of the Dunbar, or Ann Arbor Community Center! From its beginnings in the early 1920s, the Center aimed to provide resources for Black and African American Communities in the area. The Dunbar Center--now known as the Ann Arbor Community Center--is almost 100 years old! I had a really hard time finding the fourth code. I *think* I was searching for the correct thing, and I tried a lot of variations, but I only found it by looking at all the photos and using the clue in the hint, so I don't think I did it right.

Anyway, this was a really cool badge. I loved seeing photos from so long ago!

I am having an extremely hard time finding the final code word. I have tried everything to no avail. I am wondering if someone could give me one more clue to help me find the final code word.

You are searching for the two word Camp name, which is mentioned on the Dunbar Center portal page, near the bottom!

Make sure AFTER you search the term under the Photos format that you are limiting your year range! This is on the lefthand side of the page, where there are multiple search refinement options. Limit the years to 1972-1999 to find the photo with the code!

On the last clue, I limited the years, but nothing came up for 1972. The earliest was 1973, and none of them were the one.

It sounds like you might be searching for the wrong term. When you limit the years with the two word campground name, your code should be in the first photo result!

The children in the 4th clue are playing with white dolls. No Black dolls in the picture at all. Sad.

Thank you for this badge, and for highlighting our local history.
I particularly appreciated the 1944 photo of young Coleman Jewett. Once upon a time, I bought lovely handmade furniture from him at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market.
