Far North Freewheelin'

The City of Ann Arbor has a LOT of parks, so we've broken them up into convenient groups! For this badge, you'll be in the FAR NORTH area!

In order to get this BADGE, you'll have to visit some of the beautiful Far North sites and find the main sign for each park! Your codes will all be based off the sign itself or the nearby surrounding area!

Some of these are neighborhood parks with little to no parking. Please be respectful of the neighbors of these parks, and PLEASE be safe and aware of traffic when seeking out these park signs! You've got all summer to find these, so no rush!

Below are the SPECTACULAR places this badge will lead you to with the links to the city pages for each park in alphabetical order, and here's a map to help you find each sign. Use this map to know EXACTLY where each sign is! Street addresses and google maps can be misleading! Plan your own route and be careful!

Are there multiple signs for oakwood nature area? The sign i found has only two words with a k in them and that doesn’t work
Any advice?

Hi there @jannana37, you'll want to make sure you're using the map we provided in the badge. Many of the nature areas and parks have multiple entrances and multiple different signs and we had to choose one for each! For Oakwoods Nature Area, you'll need the sign off of Dunwoodie Rd. If you can't find it or don't wish to return, just let us know and we can send you the code!

Hi @lakeabigail ! The code for Foxfire West Nature Area is a LONG one! It is 24 letters long! And the last 3 letters of the code is a COLOR! I hope that helps you get your code! If not, let us know and we can help you out! Thanks for playing!

I went to Olson park and it was beautiful! Will definitely be bringing my dog back there for our daily walks. We spotted a turtle stuck between two rocks and were able to get him out and put him back on the path!

I had the same issue with Oakwoods Nature Area as above. I took google's directions and ended up in a condo community (Barclay Park). At the very back of this community is an entrance to Oakwood Nature Area with one of the typical "old fashioned" Ann Arbor parks sign. But the sign was not plural: not Oakwoods. I thought about all the signs I've seen so far and extrapolated to get the answer right. I was also deeply saddened to see all the algae blooming in the water of Barclay Park adjacent to the Nature Area...seems like it could be from runoff from fertilized lawns nearby. Not a unique problem and one that can be tackled.

We had trouble with Buttonbush Nature Area. Google maps led us into a subdivision still under construction, where we drove around for a few minutes without seeing any park signs and then moved on. Does anybody have any tips for finding this one?

Hi @emilyb308, the sign for Buttonbush is located at the end of Hickory Point Dr., just past Featherstone Ct. If you're not able to get there due to construction or don't want to return, just let us know and we can email you the code. Thanks for playing!

Please help with the correct code for Oakwoods Nature Area I took a picture of the sign I saw on Green Rd
