I tried all 12 original characters and none of them worked?
If you’re talking about the…
If you’re talking about the first clue, the keyword there is “shocking.” Think lightning or electricity if that helps. When I searched for that particular character, I found the code in the very first catalog result.

The name of first character isn't the code word, it's what you need to search in the catalog to find the code word.

I tried every single character on the list and none of them worked
I realized this after…
I realized this after encountering the same issue as it has been a while since I did this: You have to search in the catalog, and click on items, and if you find the right item there will be a code you can click on the left side of the screen. It doesn't work to just type the answer into the "redeem a code" area.
Well, it doesn't work if you…
Well, it doesn't work if you don't have the right code! For the badge, the codes aren't the characters names. They're code words you find in the AADL catalog when searching it for those characters names. Keep looking!
I’m stuck on the last clue…
I’m stuck on the last clue. Based on keywords in the text, I’m pretty sure I figured out the right character to search, but I’ve looked through two pages of catalog results without seeing the code yet. Any helpful hints would be welcome!
If you enter the first name…
If you enter the first name of the correct character, the code link is on the first item in the search list.
Thanks! I finally found the…
Thanks! I finally found the code. Turns out there are two characters from the same game with the same surname, and somehow I only saw the first and completely missed the second on the wikipedia list from the official hint. Figured I should add this comment in case anyone else makes the same mistake I did.

Absolutely! She's one of the few female characters and has a royal title. Her name is shared with a fruit. Be sure to include her title when you search: [title] [name]

I have no idea where to start for the first clue. Can someone please help?
Sure! For each of the five…
Sure! For each of the five clues in this badge, you will be searching in the catalog for a playable character in Super Smash Bros. When you open up the right item, there will be a clickable code below the image of the cover. There is a link to a chart on wikipedia in the hint. For the first clue, you'll be looking for a character that has a green check in the first column. The words written in all caps are hints to which of those characters we're talking about. If you're not familiar with Super Smash Brothers characters, you may need to do some searching on their wikipedia pages (helpfully linked in that chart). When you get that and move on to your next clue, you'll be looking for characters that were first introduced in the second iteration of the game. On that wikipedia chart, that means there will be a green check in the second column, but no checks in any columns to the left of it. Hope this helps!
I am having trouble on the…
I am having trouble on the third clue. I think I figured out the franchise, but I cannot fond the code when searching the catalog.
You're so close! Rather than…
You're so close! Rather than search the catalog for the franchise, look for the character that is that franchise's mascot. He's had a resurgence in popularity thanks to some recent movies!
For the last clue, how do we…
For the last clue, how do we know if a character was first seen in a game for NES?
If it's not knowledge you…
If it's not knowledge you have off-hand, you can do some searching! The chart linked to in the hints for this badge has the game the characters are from in the far right column. If a character is one you think could be the right answer (which in this case means a green check in column five with red x's in the columns to the left of it), you can click on the link to the game they're from and see what console it was introduced for. A bit of work, I know, but this is a 3-star badge!
I can't find the last clue…
I can't find the last clue. Does the character's the last name start with K? if so I searched both character's names and nothing!
No, the surname starts with…
No, the surname starts with the letter B (but if you're looking at the chart of potential characters, only his first name is listed). Remember that the all-caps words in this clue are hints. Plus, we probably could have capitalized HOLY WATER too . . . what kind of hunter might that be a tool for? (And SIMPLE is more of a hint for the character's name. Think nursery rhymes.)
Got it, Thank you :)
Got it, Thank you :)

I am having trouble on Question 4. I tried using the bold words to help, but no luck.
Hints would be helpful!

Ha! Nice work. I'll leave my hint up, just in case anyone else needs a boost.
The first step to solving…
The first step to solving this clue is finding out who Nintendo's 1990s rival was. It's a common crossword clue, so if you google it, it should give you the correct franchise. (Or you could look for a youtube video of the vintage commercial that used the phrase "NintenDON'T") Then figure out what character is their mascot and search THAT name in the catalog.
I am really stuck on the…
I am really stuck on the last clue. Other than what has been recommended above in the comment section, is there any other clue that can be given? I have clicked on every character that has a new check mark in the last column and couldn't find anything relevant to the capitalized words that had both a first and last name. The surname with a B is throwing me off too. I only found one character who has a surname with a B, and his first name does not work in the catalog. Plus that character does not match the other clues. Thank you.
You're doing some great…
You're doing some great searching! Here are a couple tips that should get you right there. Though the character has a last name, in the wikipedia chart, it just shows his first name. (If you click on the linked name, it takes you to his wikipedia page, which includes the full name). Using information in some of the added hints I've given in comments, try googling "first nintendo vampire video game" That should get you the title of the game this character is from and help you narrow it down to just two potential characters!
Thank you. That was helpful.

I found the first clue and entered the code, but it has not unlocked the second clue.
It looks like you actually…
It looks like you actually found the third code in the badge! Going back to the first clue, pay attention to the capitalized words, as they hint at the specific character we're looking for. You also want to find a character that was part of the first iteration of Super Smash Bros. There's a link to a helpful chart of playable Super Smash characters in the hint: you're looking for a character with a check in the first column.
Thanks for your help!

Im stuck on the last clue, is it Brawl????
You're going to want to…
You're going to want to search the catalog for the first name of a character that debuted in the latest version of Super Smash Bros (Ultimate). You can look at the wikipedia chart shared in the hints to find a character listed that has a green check in the "Ultimate" column, but has red x's in all the columns to the left of it. There are a lot of hints of which character to search in earlier comments on this badge! Use the all-caps words in the clue to figure out what profession the character had, which will give you an idea of what sort of game he's in. Search to find out the first Nintendo game of that type, and you'll find the name of the game. From there, there are only two characters it could be and the all-caps SIMPLE in the original clue gives you a nudge to which one to search. PHEW, we're really making you WORK for this badge, aren't we :)
