You've heard about our contactless lobby pickup appointments—but if you haven't been to the Library since March, WHAT IS CONTACTLESS LOBBY PICKUP?
First, these are what our lobbies look like!
To get items from the library through contactless lobby pickup, just request something from the AADL catalog and specify where you'd like to pick it up. When it's your turn, you'll get the SCHEDULE A PICKUP email! Choose any date over the next seven days when you'd like to visit the pickup location to pick up your item.
AADL doors are open for contactless lobby pickup seven days a week, Noon-8pm, except holidays.
Choose your day of the week and Library staff will check out your requests the morning you want to pick them up and put the items on the hold shelf. We'll send you a reminder on the day you have chosen to pick up your items, and you can choose whether you'd like us to email, text, or call you with the reminder.
Please note that we are working through a large backlog of requests on available items, and it may take several weeks before your request is ready to be scheduled.
(psst... contactless lobby pickups are kept in the lobby for a second day! so if you miss it, you get one more day before it's on to the next borrower!)
At the beginning of your scheduled pickup, you'll receive the REQUEST IS READY FOR PICKUP notification from the Library via email, text, or phone (whichever method you chose on the SCHEDULE CONTACTLESS PICKUP form) and when the doors open at noon, your item(s) will be waiting for you on the shelf, labeled with your last name for easy contactless pickup. ITEMS ARE ALREADY CHECKED OUT, so all you need to do is walk into the lobby, take your item(s) and walk out. Simple! Quick! Contactless! We ask that patrons entering the building wear masks for everyone's safety, and we have a five-person maximum in each lobby at one time.
One more thing—we have HELP SCREENS in each lobby with a friendly AADL staffer available to answer quick questions. These staffers are video-conferenced into each of our lobbies and are on hand to say hello and help however they can.
