Misplaced Greetings, from San Diego 1 San Diego, California. That’s where they lived. Tyler and Audrey Wilson were brother and sister. Neither one of them thought the other was mean; they quite liked each other, in fact. There was also Noah Miller and Kayla Jones. Not brother or sister, but friends. All of them had known each other since preschool, and had been inseparable friends since. They were all thirteen, and strangely, they were all born on April, 1st at the exact same hour of the day, which, by the way, was 12 pm, all of them! Since it was April 1st, April Fools’ day, they should of all had of had bad luck, but instead, they had good luck. They always got a piping hot hot-lunch, and always got the lowest amount of traffic when riding to and from school on their bikes, and everything else that was lucky always happened to them on that day every year. Noah was thirteen, like all of them, and the most mature, though sometimes crazy. He had black hair, small ears, a pointy-ish nose, and deep, hazel eyes. He was the most kind of all human beings, though at times, when it had to be done, completely ruthless. Tyler had brown hair with a small ponytail at the back. He had medium sized ears, a blunt nose, and sparkly yellowish-greenish eyes. He lead the group of kids everywhere with his creative problem solving ways, and amazing leadership. Tyler was one of the two fraternal twins. Kayla had blondish hair, pointy ears, a pointed nose, and sharp, sky blue eyes. She was extremely strong willed. Some called her stubborn, and some called her amazing. Her sharp eyes seemed to unerringly see if someone was lying, or if someone was telling the truth, and determine their motives. Some say she was the long awaited heir to the throne of Cassandra, the Egyptian queen of the Nile. Audrey had lots of tumbly brown hair, blunt ears, long nose, and light grey eyes. Although she was short, she was the strongest of them all and most devoted to her friends. Steadfast and courageous, she could run 5 miles, without stopping, in less than twenty minutes, and still have enough energy left to rescue her friends from any danger. She also had a black belt in tae-kwon- do, ninjutsu, and aikido. Audrey was the second of the two fraternal twins, her brother twin was Tyler. One day, these four were at the beach, having a surfing contest, with a few of their friends: Jake, Samantha, Bobby, and Claire. So far the best surfer of them all, was Tyler, who had done a Front-side Carving 360, and a Lay-back Snap in midair. The second best was Claire. At 3 p.m. they all headed home, tired but happy. “Did you see me with that L.B.S!?!!?” said Tyler. (People call a Lay-back Snap an L.B.S.) “Nice going with that twist through that huge hole wave. That was pretty sweet,” said Kayla. They were riding back home together on their bikes since they all lived near each other, literally neighbors. Each family was quite different but they all lived each other! One by one they each began doing what they normally did. When Noah got home, he called for his dog, Reaver, a Border Collie. Reaver came, and Noah gave him a treat. Then he went up to his room, got out his phone, and called his dad, who was out at work, building a new university. He was a carpenter, so that was the reason that Noah had the most epic tree-house, with a built-in T.V, and 4 hammocks for sleepovers. Noah had lost his mom when he was 2, so at the time, he didn't understand what had happened. She died in a car crash in Canada, and they buried her in their back, back, BACK yard, under the tree where she had written her first newspaper, since she was a journalist. Every Friday night, he and his dad would go out to that same tree and play Monopoly, with an extra player in memory of Noah's mom, since it used to be her favorite board game. When Tyler and Audrey got home, they asked their mom if they could play video games together. “Yes, just as long as you two clean the dishes. Dad’s coming home, and I'm making a fancy dinner that will require help.” said Mom. “Okay!”, they said in unison. They went downstairs, and while Tyler turned on the “Xbox Kinect®”, Audrey took out “Dance 3 Central®”, and put in “Need for Speed Rivals®”. Meanwhile, at her house, Kayla was reading. Just plain reading. Mostly, she read graphic novels, like the “Amulet®” series, and right now she was reading the “BONE®” series. Paledomia 2 The week went on fine. On Friday, Noah invited them all, Tyler, Audrey, and Kalya for a sleepover. They all said yes, but called their parents first, just to make sure they were okay with it. Everyone could come, so when the bell rang, they all shot up, grabbed their bags and homework, hopped on their bike, and zoomed home. They got out of school at 3 o’clock, and they got home at 3: 15. It was a pretty long way to school and back, so for them, 15 minutes was pretty fast, since it usually took them about 30 minutes to get there. When they got home, they packed their bags, and Noah set up the air mattresses. By the time the other kids got there, Noah was almost done setting up the snack bowls and the movie. They played virus outside for a few hours, but it started to rain, so they went in side. By then it was 6 o’clock, so they started to make dinner. Noah was a great cook, with cooking skills inherited from his dad. He made a simple thing though; Mac n’ Cheese, which they all thought was as good as god in their opinion. After dinner they got into their pj’s, and settled down to watch “In Time”. By the time the movie was done they were all fast asleep. In the morning, they were eating cereal and watching the news. “And in other news,”, said the T.V man, “There have been some strange happenings, “misplacement's”, as people are calling it. For reasons unknown, the president of the United States of America suddenly disappeared during a press conference. Do not be alarmed, no terrorists are involved. Its just an acci-”. Everything went blank and Noah, Tyler, and Kayla were knocked out. When they woke up, they saw the T.V, and the couch. They were in a enormous room with nothing but small lamps everywhere, and there was Audrey on the floor. Noah heard a creek. He looked around, and saw a big door, with a man in the doorway. He had a long black robe. He had pure black eyes, pointy nose and looked a little crazy. “Welcome”, said the man, “to Paledomia”. The Great Escape 3 Kayla screamed. “No, hush, hush my child. There is no need for you to scream. Yes it might be a shock to vanish out of thin air, but you can get home just as easily. Now come, you must train for your battle against Jupiter's heroes”. Again, they were knocked out. This time when they woke up, they were in what seemed like an armory, since there were what SEEMED like swords and shields. But not the exact thing. Some of the swords looked like they were made of ice, some of fire. The shields were covered in spike. “What is this place? How did we get here? Why are we here? Wah ah-wah-wah-wah- wahhhh...” “We just need to calm down. We can get through this, we hav-”. Audrey was cut off in mid sentence. There was the sound of footsteps coming near them. One pair, no, two pairs, no, ten pairs of footsteps were coming toward them from all directions. What seemed like servants came walking around the corner and started to take armor down from the shelves. Then, one of the servants said, “Welcome to the Paledomian Armory. Here is where you get your armor and sword and shield, as you might of guessed. Why are you here you ask? Well, King Sorie is deciding which of the nine planets he should blow up. That is why you were summoned here. Now, come over here please.” The man was kind enough that they went over to him, but they still cautiously. “Put these on.” He gave them each what seemed like helmets, except that in them were suction cups. “Now, breathe normally, and don’t make any sudden moves.” After a moment, he took their helmets off. “How do you feel?”, he asked Noah. “Dizzy, but good! I think I know how to use a sword and shield now.” “Me too!”, said Audrey and Tyler in unicine. “Good,” said the man. “Now foll-THUMP!”. Audrey had hit him in the head with the but of her sword. “Come on!”, she said. They started running to a door. When they opened it, they found themselves in a hallway dedicated to doors. There were doors on the ceiling, on the floor, and on the walls. “I’ve got a feeling that these are portals to different worlds!”, Kayla muttered. “They have signs on them, so find one that says Earth on it. They started a hunt for right door. “I found it!”, said Noah. “Alright then, let’s go!”, said Tyler. They opened the door and saw a mass of swirling darkness. “It’s worth a shot!”, said Audrey. They jumped through and were knocked out like before. “Uuuggggggghhhhhhhhhh...”, mumbled Audrey. “Hey we’re alive!”, yelled Kayla. “Yyyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy!”, they all shouted. Then Tyler barfed, but after that everything was fine. But they couldn't relax and watch T.V because there was no couch or T.V. “Aw, man! Dad’s gonna kill me!”, said Noah. The End
