The Adventures of Kabir
Once upon a time there was a planet Jupiter which was far, far away from another planet Earth. There was a boy named Kabir who lived all alone on a barn in a farm on Earth. His mom and dad got blown away to Jupiter when he was little.
Now one day, Kabir was taking a walk and saw women making flatbread. He asked them if he could have a piece. Happily, they said, “yes!” So, the women gave Kabir a whole piece of flatbread. When Kabir looked at the flatbread he saw that is was golden. When he bit into the flatbread, he noticed that the golden flatbread was refilling with more flatbread! Kabir took the flatbread back to his house in the barn and put it on a plate.
An old man called Old Man heard about this golden flatbread. Old Man was a very greedy man. That night he crept into Kabir's house and in one second he stole the golden flatbread. But on his way out, he dropped something.
When Kabir woke up the next morning, he went to eat some flatbread. But when he looked at the plate, all he saw was crumbs and a piece of paper on the floor that said “Old Man 125.” Kabir knew that Old Man was a person because he had talked to him before. He thought 125 might be an address so he ran to find house 125.
It was hours before he found the correct house 125, but he did. It was night and Old Man was asleep with the door open. Kabir crept in. The floor boards creaked as he tiptoed in. He looked around for his flatbread and then he saw it, but he could not get it because old man was sleeping with the flatbread in his hands. Kabir thought and thought for how he could get his flatbread back. He saw the plan in his head. Gold paint!
He ran home and painted a normal flatbread in gold paint. He ran back to house 125 and quickly he swapped the fake flatbread with the magical flatbread.
In the morning, Old Man bit into the fake flatbread and his teeth all fell out because the gold paint had hardened overnight. Old Man was so mad that he began to rob banks and kidnap people. When Kabir heard about this he thought he could stop Old Man. That night he set a trap with the help of the police. Kabir said, on TV, “if you come to 911 Burns Lane you will get $10,000.” When Old Man saw this, he went to 911 Burns Lane. But instead of getting $10,000 he fell into a dark hole. He got so mad that he ran all the way to Jupiter, screaming “I’m going to go back to Jupiter to Kabir’s parents,” and no one on Earth saw him ever again.
After Old Man went away, Kabir thought of saving his parents who he now knew were on Jupiter. But first, he had to find a way to get to Jupiter. His plan was to build a ship to take him to Jupiter. In ten days, he was on Jupiter and looking for his parents who he found in a picture! At first he thought it was a trap, but then he heard his mom say, “Kabir is that really you?” Kabir said, “yes.” He thought to himself, “how should I get my
mom and dad out of the picture?” Kabir asked his mom how he could get them out of the picture. His dad replied, “Find a magical golden flatbread and a man named Old Man and place them on top of the picture. Then we can pop out of the picture.” Kabir went back home to Earth in his spaceship to get his golden flatbread. He went back to Jupiter because Old Man had run all the way to Jupiter. After many days Kabir finally found Old Man who was still very mad, so Kabir had to drag him all the way back to his mom and dad’s picture.
After a fierce battle, Kabir finally managed to get Old Man on top of the picture like his dad had asked him to. Kabir quickly placed the golden flatbread next to Old Man, who was on top of the picture. Suddenly, there was a bright flash of light and Kabir’s parents were standing right next to him. Finally, after many years Kabir felt that he was home at last. Even though he was on Jupiter.
