The Day At The Pool 
Have you ever seen a small guy break a big thing? Its pretty 
funny. Read on to find out more. 
My story took place in Western Michigan. We rented a big 
house with a pool with a diving board. With a river in the back. In 
the summer of 2011. It was a warm and pleasant evening. five 
families who are pretty good friends came. We get together a lot for 
dinner and stuff like that. 
It was a warm summer evening and everyone was having a 
great time leaping into the pool on the diving board. I thought 
nothing could go wrong. Then some of the parents started to jump 
in. 
“Hey Ken, do you want to go jump in the pool?” said dad. 
“No I'm going to break that thing” said Ken. 
“No you won't” said dad. 
"Ok fine" said Ken. 
Then one of my friends dad walked up (who isn't very heavy by the 
way) and he leaped and broke the diving board! The bolt in the back 
of the diving board broke off. It was really funny and everyone was 
laughing really hard it was hysterical. I thought “What the heck are 
we going to do now!". 
Then I thought about how will we fix it. People were thinking 
“how did the diving board brake!”. Well we were kind of worried 
because this wasn't our property so we didn't know if we should call 
the owner or not or if we had to pay for. 
In conclusion I learned that you should always check to make 
sure a diving board is strong before you leap off of it. I hope you
