Three Mermaid Friends There were three mermaid friends. Their names were Coral, Maria and Onna. CoralÕs tail is blue with scales. MariaÕs tail is yellow with scales and OnnaÕs tail is purple and also have scales too. One day the three of them were playing while a mean mermaid named Princess Garcia came followed by her friend Holly. Princess GarciaÕs tail is red with scales. HollyÕs tail is green with scales too. The mermaid friends always keep away when they see Princess Garcia and Holly but it was too late. ÒHiÓ said Princess Garcia said when she came closer to the girls. Then Maria whispered that she is thirsty and is going to get some seaweed juice. She looked around and spotted a stall that had a sign that said Juices. She swam to the stall and ordered seaweed juice. Meanwhile, Princess Garcia gave a wink to Holly. The girls knew what that meant. It meant that that they were planning something bad. When Maria came back with her seaweed juice Princess Garcia gave Holly a thumbs up. Holly quickly went in front of Maria and then said ÒHey guys I can do a back flipÓ Princess Garcia said ÒGo on show it to usÓ. Then she did a back flip and Splash! The seaweed juice spilled all over Maria. ÒOh NoÓ said Maria as she tried to dry it with a cloth. ÒSorryÓ said Holly as she gave a high five to Princess Garcia. ÒYou did that on purposeÓ said Coral. ÒWhat do you tail fins think you can doÓ said Princess Garcia said sneering at the girls. ÒWhy do you and Holly keep following usÓ asked Onna. Princess Garcia got angry. ÒYou should be grateful that I will be giving you one more chance. If you lose that chance IÕll tell my dad and heÕll know what to do with youÓ Princess Garcia said ÒCome on Holly letÕs go Òshe said in a royalty voice and then swam away. ÒLetÕs go to my shellÓ said Coral as she held her friends hands and swam to her shell. ÒWhat should be we doÓ asked Onna. ÒMay be we could make necklaces and bracelets with my momÕs leftover beadsÓ said Coral. ÒYes!Ó said Onna and Maria. ÒOkayÓ said Coral calming them down. ÒBut first I need to ask my motherÓ said Coral. ÒIÕll be back in a splish-splash of a MermaidÕs tailÓ said Coral as she swam where her mother was. Maria and Onna saw CoralÕs mom whispering something in CoralÕs ear. Then Coral came in the room with a sad face. ÒMy mother said noÓ Coral said. Then it got so quiet that you could hear pin-drop silence. ÒJust KiddingÓ said Coral. My mother said ÒYesÓ. ÒYeah!Ó said Maria and Onna. Coral went in her momÕs room and got her momÕs jewelry box. Then Coral opened the lid and beads of all sorts of colors, numbers, pictures and alphabets came out. ÒI am going to get the scissors and thread, be right backÓ said Coral. After some time Coral came with thread and scissors. ÒWhat took you so long?Ó asked Onna. ÒMy room is kind of messy. So it took a while to find these.Ó Just then the doorbell rang. CoralÕs mother swam to see who it was. Then she said Ògirls, someone wants to see youÓ. The girls went to see who it was. And what a surprise they had. It was Princess Garcia and Holly they look kind of ashamed. ÒUm guys could you just come out, I need to talk about somethingÓ said Princess Garcia. The girls came out. ÒGuys I am sorry that if we were mean and following you all the timeÓ said Princess Garcia. ÒYes I am sorry tooÓ said Holly. The girls couldnÕt believe their eyes. Princess Garcia and Holly said sorry to them. ÒWhy were you following us thenÓ asked Maria. ÒBecause I wanted to be your friendÓ said Princess Garcia. ÒAnd I also became jealousÓ said Princess Garcia. ÒYou should have told us earlierÓ said Maria. ÒWe should have figured it outÓ said Coral. ÒI know I know Òsaid Holly. ÒIs there any we could make it up to you guysÓ asked Holly. The girls though for a while and then finally said ÒYou could make it up to us by being our friendsÓ. ÒYeahÓ they both said. ÒWe are making friendship bracelets nowÓ said Coral. ÒWould like to join usÓ asked Onna. ÒYesÓ Princess Garcia and Holly said. The five of them made necklaces and bracelets and played nicely and lived happily ever after. THE END
