Read-Alouds for Family Reading
If you’re looking to read classic picture books or longer chapter books aloud you’ve come to the right place! Reading aloud to children has been linked to young children’s emergent literacy ability, which can be defined as the skills or knowledge that children develop before learning the more conventional skills of reading and writing which affect children’s later success in reading. Even after your child can read on their own, reading aloud is still a great way to bond with your child and can help foster their curiosity, creativity and imagination. Library staff has created a variety of “read aloud” lists for various ages and interests.
