You’ve seen them in lawns all over town. You’ve seen them on cute little Summer Game Stop poles at all the libraries. But, you might still be wondering what the HECK all this fuss is about! What ARE these things?? And WHY does everyone have them???
What they are:
Lawn & Library Codes are player-created Summer Game codes for fellow Summer Gamers to find and enjoy! People love MAKING them, proudly DISPLAYING them, and FINDING them!!!
Each L&L code is worth 100 Summer Game points to players who redeem it, and unlimited good vibes to the player who creates it.
LAWN CODES are found on special Summer Game lawn signs (which we provide). You may have noticed these round, colorful signs around town in the summer—with goofy game codes sharpied on them. They stay out until the end of the game, spreading SG joy and library love with every passing car and dog walker.
LIBRARY CODES are found on special code cards (which we also provide)! These cute little MINI codes get attached to one of our five Summer Game Stops. Each library has one of these Summer Game Stops (a sign with SG art and a perforated pole covered in codes!) for players to check for codes, and redeem points, throughout the summer. They are meant to be left on the pole all summer!
FAQs
HOW DO I GET A LAWN SIGN OR CODE CARD? You can stop by the info desk at all AADL locations to pickup supplies for either type of code between June 11-August 10.
CAN I HAVE MORE THAN ONE CODE? No, sorry! It's tied to your account and the system can only handle one code per account. You'll need to choose between a Lawn OR Library Code. You may prefer one or the other, or you might need a Library Code if you don't have a good place for a lawn sign.
WHAT SHOULD MY CODE BE? Whatever you want! As long as it's not offensive or directing people to buy things at your business (it's okay to have a lawn code at your business though!).
HOW DO I SET UP MY CODE SO IT WORKS? You need to create your code in the Summer Game system! Go to your My Players page and scroll down to the Player Details section. You'll see the words, "Create Your Lawn Code or Library Code," click it and follow the directions to make your code.
DOES TIMING MATTER? Yes! Make your code by August 10th, so players have time to find it before the game ends! Also, plan on putting the code out at the same time you register it (especially if you chose to have it show up on the Summer Game Map!). PRO TIP: create your code in the system BEFORE writing it on your sign or code card to save yourself some do-overs (in case your first idea has already been used).
WHERE SHOULD I PUT MY LAWN SIGN? Put lawn signs in YOUR lawn (or one that you have permission to use) near a sidewalk or other safe viewing location—no fence-hopping, door-knocking, middle-of-the-street-gawking required!!! This is super important for a smooth Lawn Code experience for you, your fellow players, and your neighbors.
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY LAWN SIGN AFTER THE GAME? Keep it! The signs are sturdy and reusable, so, once you have one, you can use it for multiple Summer Game seasons! Goo Gone is handy for removing stubborn old codes.
I'M HERE FOR THE POINTS! HOW DO I FIND LAWN & LIBRARY CODES? Use the Summer Game Map to find Summer Game Stop locations and some Lawn Codes. BUT REMEMBER: It’s not like Pokemon—even with map pins, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CATCH ‘EM ALL!!!
