The Washing Of Feet

St. Locis, March 27. -Au irapressive cereniouy was performed by Arch bishop Kenrick id St. John's Catlioüc church. It was the washing of the feet of twelve boys from the orphans' home, in eomniernoration of the example of humility set by the Savior in washing the feet of his disciples. Archbishop Kendrick is 85 years of age, and his appearance in itself lent religious sentiment to the scène. Washcd and Kiased the Feet. The archbishop was attirecl in the ordinary sanctuary robes. In the church the deacon sang the part of the Gospel pertaining to the washiug of the feet of disciples by Christ. Upon the conclusión of the Gospel the archbishop laid aside his crosier, removed his cape and approachd the orphans. An assistant held the basiu and the archbishop waahed, wiped and kissed the feet of the boys. Then the simple but touching ceremony was concluded.
