Washington City, March 27.- Yesterday G. G. Merrick, et al., of Denver, Coló., through counsel, filed a petition in the district court for a mandamus on Charles E. Foster, secretary of the treasury, to compel him to receive a silver bar or ingot for coinage. This is a renewal of the suit against Secretary Windom, and owing to his death had to be beguu de novo.
