Belief In A Future State

It is cuneras and interesting to note that the British Columbian tribe of the Shanakons have a soul belief which is an almost exact counterpart of that cherished by the old Israelites. They believe that every being has its doublé or shadow, thin, palé figure, seldoin or never seen by mortal eyes, which after death descends to an abode beneath the earth and there leads a sad and gloomy eiistence. The Israelites ealled this place Sheol: the Shanakons know it as "Eotea."
