There wer ! a few unimportant "scraps," and iitiua exchanges of compliments, but nothing calling for hard work by the police. ïhe Parnellities wero defeated, the majority against them being 806. The priests did not stop urging the voters until their ballots were deposited. They made direct aud personal appeals to the voters as they stood in line, to vote against Parnell.
