Many Miners Lay Off Awhile

Nothing Like the General Strike Predicted Some Time Ago.
Columbus, O., May 2.- A special to The Columbus Dispatch, from Nelsonville, O., one of the principal points in the Hocking coal regions, says: The miners were all idle yesterday, but in an interview with a number of the leading miners we are informed that this does not mean a strike, as the 1st of May was Labor Day. The opinion of the majority of miners interviewed is that there will be no strike in the Hocking Valley and Straitsville districts.
