One Mayor Too Many

JACKSONVILLE, Hls., May 5.- Tuis city 13 just now enjoying the distinction of haring two mayors, who at the satn; time are unable to transact municipal business. April 21 Thomas Knoles (Dem.) was eleoted mayor, but the outgoing council and mayor retused to approve the new xnayor'3 bond. Mayor Knoles has endeavored to have a meeting of the council, but none of the Republicans have responded to the cali. Monday he took possession of the office, safes, records, etc, but the ex-clerk still has possessiou of the keys. At a meeting of the board of education Monday niglit, of which the mayor is presiding oflieer, it was resolved to pay no money unless warrants were signed by Mr. Knoles. The board is Democratie.
