Lyle, Mina., May 4.- Fire yesterday in less than three hours wiped out property valued at 140,000 iu this place. The towu was entirely without fire protection, aad the flames spread so rapidly that before assistance from neighboring towas could reach here the Cre had done most oL its work. The Uaioa station, belongingto the Chicago, St. Paul and Kansas City and the Illinois Central, together with the Chicago, Mihvaukee and St. Paul station aad two grain elevators, were consumed. Other Loases of Property. Among thp principal losers are Lund & Lunsdhead, dealer in general mercbandise. $20,000; JohnMyher, general store, 118,000; A. J. Knudson, hardware, $22,000; the commercial hotel, Hart & Conner'ssaloon, Area's meat market, McCarty Bros. ' saloon, aad a number of other buildings, were burued. There is strong suspicion that it was the work of an incendiary.
