Laxsing, Mich., May 29.- The house com mittee on ways and means yesterday re ported favorably the bill for an appropriation for the World's fair. The amount named is $125,000. The bilí provides that of the amount named $50, 000 shall be raised in 1891 and i 75,000 in the next two years. It ereates a coinmission of six men and three women. Married a Michigan Heiress. Saginaw, Mich., May 28.- The marriagê of Miss Sarah Brockway, a prominent society lady of this city and heiress to $500,000, to Frederick Henry Smith, ot Peoria, Hls., took place at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening at the Methodist Episcopal c'iurch. It was one of the most brilliant society events of the season.
