New York, June 1.- Memorial Day was never more generally observed in this city thau it was last Saturday. About every military organization in the city was in the parade in the niorning, together wifh a large number of civic societies and an arm y of old veterans. In the afternoon services were held at Grant's tomb. The United States man-of-war Enterprise was anchored in the Hudson river opposite the tomb and fired minute guns during the continuance of the services. A number "f ex-Confederates were present as guest s of the day. The Hon. John S. Wise, of Virginia, delivered the address of the day, which was a very eloquent one.
