This morning's Tribune contains the followtog dispatch: Prof. Harrington, in charge of the observatory of the Michigan University, and editor of the Meteorological Journal there, is being very farorably considered for appointment as chief of the signal service bureau under the law of the last congress, whicb. takes effect July 1, placiug this service under the jurisdiction of the agricultural department. Prof. Harrington is being considered solely on his merits as a well known meteorologist, but is endorsed by' many prominent men in politics. He will be -warmly recommeiuied by Michigan congressmen of both parties.
