Our Water Works

Tho water works reservoirs were examlned yesterday afternoon by the board of health, the board of public works. Trof. Greene and Mr. Richardson, who assisted in building the works. They found the water lowered In the reservoir so thaf they couTd walk dow nto it. Tho water was elealf and they report seeing nothing Injurióos to the public health. At the pumping works the eight flowing wella were visited. The water gushes up clear as crystal and as cool as ice water. The wells are 55 to 68 feet deep and one of the pipes is six lnches. The reception basins were boiug cleaned out thoroughly mul put In excellent order. Ann Arbor Is to be congratulated on its works. The capacity is 1,500,000 gallons, while the eonsumption is about 1,000,000 gallons. There are 25 milos of street mnins and 117 hydrants.
