The mayor of Jackson, a coniniittee of the comrnou council and the board of puibU(c works of that city, visitad his city yesterday and were enterained by the water works corapany, Ann Arbor city officials and the elecric railway company. The Jackson party consisted of Mayor Weatherwax and Messrs. Tinker, Carroll, Blakesy, Sinitli. Barker, Mltchell and Bean, a good lookinj; dolegation and an inelligent one. The niain object of heir visit was to examine our water vorks system. They were met a the train by a delegation of the Ann Arbor city officials and representaüves of -the water worka company and escorCed at once to the pumping staHion and the water works reservdir. They seemed much pleased wittf our system, flowing1 wells and reser%'oir pressure. Jackson, after spendng hundreds of thousands of dollars tn lts water works finds itaelf without any surplus supply of water for emergencies, and is investigating to aae if it is (posible to put in a reservoir system or some system which will stand them in time of need. After inspecting the water works :he party was driven to the Cook house, where a good dinner was provided. Then through the kindness of ;he electric railwny, a ride was enoyed over thelr line on a special car, after which the party took the motor line for Ypsüanti. Ann Aror is always glad to welcome suclf delegations as Jackson sent yesterday.
