Grand Rapids, Mich., Sept. 16.- The Soldiers' Home board to-day discussed the Captain Manly difficulty and ünally instructed Manager B. F. Graves, one of the republican members, to seek a personal interview with. Captain Manly to demand the return of that $300.50 alleged to have been appropriated when the assets were turned over to Manager Sprague Should Manly persist in being back ward about it criminal proceedings will immediately be commencec againsthim. The report that Manly also appropriated curtains, etc., be longing to the state, was to-day found without foundation, the goods beinp found. Manager Graves left to-nigh for Ann Arbor and things will sooi come to a focus. In this connection L. F. Williams, managing editor o1 the Telegram-Herald, who saw the transfer of assets made. declares posi tively that Manly paid the money over and received a receipt for the same from Sprague, the receipt being made out in triplícate, and that at the close of the transaction Sprague put the money in his inside coat pocket anc departed. - Detroit Tribune.
