A plague has fallen upon sections o Napoleon township. A green worm about two inches long is devastating its forests. It feeds on the leaves o the oaks and in one piece of woodlanc near Wolf lake, about sixty acres ar as denuded of foliage as if swept b fire. The trunks of the trees and th ground are covered by the worms, th advance guard of which appeared last year. Hon. Patrick Hankard, of Henrietta, said yesterday that the same pest exists in his township. About thirty acres of woods on the farm of Geo. Kellogg, within three weeks has been stripped clean of its leaves. Worins cover the trunks and are continually dropping from the branches and the ground is so thickly covered that it is impossible to step without crushing them. Mr. H. thought the season so far advanced that the trees would not be seriously affected by this terriflc onslaught on their vitality.- Jackson Patriot.
