The subject of the TJniversity Extemjion system of teaching is exciting public interest tha-oughout the entire country at present, and the University of Michigan i.s among the leaders, as usual in all edueational matters. The idi'ü of University extensión is to give (o the workingmen and those wlio are tuiablii to attend. a college or university n, portion of the advantages which are enjoyed by those wlio are more fortúnate than . themselves. Local organizations are effected and series of lectures by prominent educators are delivered upon subjects usually taught in the Üniverslty, esamiiKitiou afterwards being held.
