Heretofore it has been hnpossible tci get lead to adliere to iron without tht aid of tin. This can now be done by tht following means: First, pickle the plates in a bath to remove the scale, a weai electric current being sent through thtt bath. Remove the plates to a bath oi lime water nnd thence to one of fresh water. From this place them in a bath consisting of a neutral solution of zinc and stannic chlorides, thenc;e to a drying chamber heated by steam. When drjplace them iu a bath of molten lead 'Jö! per cent. pure.
