Mrs. Heath visited friends at How ard, the last of the week. The .several churches of Milan observe the week of prayer. Miss Allie Harpef returned to rhe school in Cadillac, Saturday. Mrs. J. C. Rouse visited Ann Arbor on Tuesday afternoon. The Milan school commencec Monday, with a full attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Crandel entertainec guests from abroad, over Sunday. Mrs. E. A. Reynolds and daughter May are visiting relations at Bay City. Mr. E. Mains, of Detroit, was the guest of Dr. Harper and family last week. Mrs. T. Barnes, of Dundee, visited Milan friends, Thursday and Friday. Miss Svvindt, of Oliyet, visited her parents, Rev. J. Swindt snd wife, last week. Prof. Stanlyand wife, of Ypsilanti, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. Allen last week. Mr. A. E. Gardner is running the water works on the Wabash, in John Bray's place, during Mr. Bray's illness. Attorney G. R. Williams and wife entertained Mrs. H. C. Markham and son Kenneth, of Ann Arbor, over Sunday. Dr. Palmer had a bad fall Monday, striking his head against a book case and hurting him severely. .The doctor is over 80 years of age. Mrried, at the Presbyterian parsonage. Thursday, Dec. 31, Mr. W. I. Butterfield, of Jackson, and Miss Cora Swindt, of Milan village, Rev. J. Swindt, the bride's father, officiating. Married, Dec. 3oth, Mr. Wm. Woolcott, of Milan, and Miss Eva Smith, of Maple Grove, Saginaw county, at the residence of the kride's parents, Rev. J. B. White officiating. The Baptist Sunday school elected the following ofïïcers, Dec. 27t.l1: Superintendent, A. D. Jackson; assistant superintendent, A. W. Dexter; secretary, Miss Emma King; assistant secretary, Miss NinaHack; chorister, Dr. S. Shapin; assistant ister, F. W. Hill; organist, Miss Millie Hitchcock; assistant organist, Grace Huntington. The Epworth League of the M.E. church elected the following officers at their last meeting: President, H. A. Taylor; first vice president, Mrs. G.E. Sloan; second vice president, Mrs. O. H. Kelsey; third vice president, Miss Hattie Jacobs; fourth vice president, H. L. Van Wormer; secretary, Miss Mabel Graham ; treasurer, Miss Jessie Stever.
