Democratic Society
An enthusiastic meeting of the Democratie society was held last evening in the law lecture room. In the absence of Mr. Harvey, Mr. McEncroe was chosen secretary pro Brilliant speeches were made by several of the members present, and the following officers were chosen to direct the affairs of the society during the present semester: S. VV. Curtiss, President; A. F.Wentworth, Vice Pres.; W. I. Manny, Treas.; )ames Bordeaux, Cor. Sec'y; Mr. Bickley, Ree. Sec'y. A motion prevailed that the society celébrate Jefferson's birthday by living a banquet, and the following tommittees were appointed to look after the preliminary arrangements: Committee to canvass the Democratie students - Messrs. Smith,Kuhn and Wentworth. Committee of arrangements - Messrs. Martin, Bordeaux, Von Ammon, Kendall and Manny. Another meeting of the society will be held on Thursday evening, March
