LUD J'ICIAL. COUNCIt, CHAMBEE, ( Ann Aruok, Mareh 11, 1892. Adjóurned session. President Cooley being absent, the Couneil was called to order by Citv Clerk Miller. Roll called. A quorum present. Absent- Aid. Manu, Herz and President Cooley.- 3. On motion of Aid. Wines, Aid. Hall was elected president pro tem. SPECIAL ORDER. Chairman Hall stated that the first business in order was the consideration of laying out, wideningandstraightening Summit street, which was continued from March 7th meeting to this meeting. Ko objection being made, Aid. Fillmore offered the following resol ution: Whereas, Application having been made to this Commou Couneil to lav out, widen nd straighten a certaiñ street called Summit street, west from Main street hereinafter clescribed, and due notice of the pendency of such proposed improvement having been duly given to all persons who are interested in the lands and tenaments required therefore, and all persons appearing having been heard, and due consideration thereof having been had and it appearing therefrom that it is necessary to take and acquire certain lands therefor. Therefore, be it Resolved, and it is hereby ordered and determined that the said street uaueu summii sireeo De, and tiie same is heieby ordered laid out, widened and straigh tened and to befour(4) rods in width west of Main street in the city of Ann Arbor, described as follows, to-wit: From Main street westerly to the angle of Suraiuit street, next east of Grove street, the center line of whieh wheu laid out, widened and and straightened shall be a straiglit line between the stone, briek or iron monument which now marks the intersection of the center line of Summit street east of Main street with the line of monument on north Main street in said city, and a like monument which marks the angle in Summit street, lately called High street, next east of Grove street in said city. Which resolution prevailed by a yea and nay vote as follows: Yeas- Aid. Wines, Martin, Alimendinger, Fillmore, O'IIearn, Ferguson, Taylor, Kehberg, Hall, Kitson- 10. Nays- None. By Alderman Allmendinger: Resolved, That the President appoint a conmiittee of three, who, wilh the City Attorney, obtain and report at the next meeting what sums of money will be ueeessary to obtain the title to tlie land required f'or the Iaying out, widening and straighteuiiig Summit street westerly from Main street. Whieh resolution prevailed by a yea and nay vote as follows: Yeas - Aid. Wines, Martin, Allmendinger, Fillmore, O'IIcarn, Ferguson, Taylor, Eehbertr, Hall, Kitson- 10. Nays- ííone. The chair appointed the following cotofmittèe; Aid. Martin, Allmendinger and Kitson. By Aid. Rehberg: Resolved, That Aid. (J. Frank O'IIearn. Louis F. Hall. and Citv Clerk W. J. Miller be and they are hereby appointed and elected to be members of and to coiistitute the Board ot' Election Commissioners in and for the City of Arm Arbor, for the city election tb be held in and for said city, on tlie Fourth day of April, A. D. 1892. Tliat such persons above named shall have and liold such office for and duf ir g such time and term as shall be necessary to fully discharge all of the duties pertaining to such office in the conduct of such election, and the said Board of Election Commissioners are hereby charged with the duty of doing all of the things enjoined upon City Boards of Election Commissioners under the general law of this State. Aid. Wines moyed to amend by adding the names of John R. Miner and Samuel W. Beakes, which arnendment prevailed. Whereupon, the resol ution as amended was passed by yeas and nays as follows: Yeas- Aid. Wines, Martin, Allmendinger, Fillniore, O'Hearn, Ferguson, ïaylor, Rehberg, Hall, Kitson- 10. Nays - None. The Supervisors of the city being present, at the suggestion of Aid. Hall, the Aldermen and Supervisors discussed the new election law informally. After due consideration of the same, on motion the Council adjourned. City Clerk.
