Summer Schools Wanted
Ann Arbor, May 19, 1802. Ed. AEGU8:- -Sinoe you are an alumnus, cannot you explode i dynamite cartridge full of enthusiasni under the University faeulty and cause thern to provide for and advertise sumnier schools immediately, so as to attract to Ann Arbor l'rom July to September 500 to 1,000 teachers, this year, wlio will come from all sections of the country to prepare themselyes in their different specialties, - som e in French, sorue in Germán, some in the classics, and sorne in physics, etc, etc. Oiir boarding houses are empty from July to September, and we can lili some of them, and summer schools, once opened, will, in a few yeare, attract 2,000 or 3,000 teachers, or as many as there are studente in the University now, and help to advertise the University, and benefit both the citytond the University. The University needs tliis to counteract the inrluehce of the Standard Oil College, which is getting so many oí' the leaders in the famous eastern colleges.
