Farmers now rejoice over having their corn planted. S. R. Wheeler was in Detroit and Bay City last week. Whooping cough is prevalent in this village at present. Two more weeks and school will close for the summer vacation. Fred Bunn, of Superior, spent Sunday with Frank Davis and family. Miss Ella Nixon spent Saturday and Sunday with friends in Hamburg. John Steals will soon take his place as postmaster, Chauncey Crytz having resigned. Mrs. Preston, of Grass Lake, visited her daughter, Mrs. Albert Litchfield, last week. Misses Ida and Libbie Leslie entertained a number of their young friends last Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dickerson, of Wayne, were the guests of Fpster Litchfield and family last week. Mr. P. litchfield and wife, MA. Smith and Mrs. S. W. Hohnes, attended the pioneers' picnic held at Chelsea last week. The school girls took the advantage of Decoration Day and turned into a "fishing party," returning with nearly a roshei of nice fish.
