Minutes of previeran meeting read aaid apjjroved. Plee (.'ommissioner Hutzel and Chiel Sipley, a oommittee f rom. tüe board of fire conmiissioiiers, asked the boarif of public worfas to have the earth arouind 12 fire hydrante removed, so tliat easy aceess coud-d be had to said hyidrantB. Street Ooimmieeloner Suthcrland was at poce ordered to at once do the vrörk that is tueoegsary on said hydrants. On notion of Mr. Keeoïi, the followtog report was accepted and submitted id ihc ootmmöm councü for lts conKideratioii. The Board of Public Works, to vvhom was referred by his honor, the Mayor, the present condition of First street, respectfully report that we find that the Toledo, Ann Arbor and North Michigan Railroad Company are desirous of construeting, for the conveyauce and accommodation of their patrons, a spur track along their property which fronts on First street, and desire leave to cross First street along the west side of' their main track, and also Williams street along First street inso doing, and we would respectfully recommend that said railway be granted such permission on certain conditions, as follows: lst. That the Toledo, Ann Arbor and Xorth Michigan Railway Company do forthwith construct a plank side; walk along the east side of First street adjacent to all of their property, including their original right of way across First street. 2d. That they extend the culvert on First street westerly to the west line of First street, by 24-inch tile, to be laid doublé and side by side, and covering the same to grade of street. 3d. That the crossiag of said spur track be at the present grade of said streets respectively, the city reserving to itseli the right to change the grade of each of said streets, and the said Company to conform to such change by placing their said spur track at all times at established grade. 4th. That sucli spur track be laid wholly on Company ground and out of First street as claimed by the City, and as lately surveyed by the City Engineer, except where said spur track crosses said First street. 5th. That at crossing of bo'th First and William streets, the company to construct plank crobsings, the full width of each street. 6th. That construction and extensión of culvert, the sidewalk aud each road crossing be under the direction of and all work and material used, to be to the satisfaction of the Street Commissioner. 7th. And the said Board further reporta that the said Kailway bas already removed its track from and along First street to its own grounds within the time and as heretofore ordered by your honorable body, and to the entire satisfaction of this entire Board.
