A Baby Abandoned

A little girl baby apparently about two weeks old was left on the steps of the house of William Mason last Friday. There was no clue as to its parentage excepting a strip of manilla paper on which was written in a woman's hand: "May God bless this little child and the people who will care for her. Keep her and at the end of the year you will be richly rewarded tor it. ït is on church raatters that I part with our baby and with abroken heart. her parents are respectable people and live in -this city. May God bless the little one and the ones who care for her." On the other side of the paper was written by the same hand: "treat her well cali her ethel K. and at the end of the year you will be richly payed, her parents live herc." The little child has been taken to the county house.
