The Demócrata of Michigan wlU meet in State CoQveution, at Hartman's Hall, in the city of Grand Kapids, on the 17th of August next, at 10 o'clock a. m., for the purpose of placing in nomination candidates of the party to be presenteu to the people at the cominir State election. The State offices for whieh candidates are to be named at thie convention are: Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Seeretary of State, State Treasurer, Auditor General, AttorneyGeneral, Commissioner of the State Land Office, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and Member of the State Board of Education. By the aetion of the Democratie State Convention, held at Muskegon, May 4th, 1892, the Democratie State Central Committee is directed to include in the present cali the nomination of a candidato for United States Senator. It will also be the duty of this convention to nomínate one Presidential Elector and one AlternalePresidential Elector for the Eastern Eleetorial District, one Presidential Elector and one Altérnate Presidential Elector for the Western Eleetorial District, and like dates tor each of the twelve Congressioual Di6trlcts of the State. According to the rule adopted by the Democratie State Convention held in Detroit in 1880, and since followed, every county in the State ie entitled to one delégate to the State Convention for each 500 votes cast for Governor at the last general election, and one additional delégate for a fraction of not less than 250 votes, All delega tos must be residents of thecounties they represent. The delegates from each eongressional district will meet in caucm at 10 o'clock a. m. on the morning 9f August 17th, at quarters te be hereafter designated, and recommend candidates for Pre6idential Elector and Altérnate Presidential Elector, and persons for service upon the several committees of the convention. Each uistrict will be entitled to one Vice President of the convention, one Assistant Secretary, and one member each of the committees on credentials, permanent organization, order of business and resolutions. The Democratie party cordially invites all friends of the principies enunciated by the party in its platform; all opponentó of unjust andillegal taxation, the prodigal expenditure of the public money, and other abuses of republican mi6-rule; and all men who have participa ted in the achievement of the recent great victories of the Democratie party, or who desire to share in the Democratie triumph of this year, to particípate in the election of delegates to tnis convention
