A special correspondent of the Deroit News at Toledo wrote that paper ;he follovving on Wednesday, concernigïip-o-ïip, the alleged hcir-apparent ;o a Zulú throne, who created such a urore in Ann Arbor some months go: The souaewhat eelebrated Tip-o-Tip ase, in which Detroit and Toledo were mixed up, received additional light toay when a local detective received oíd froin the chief of the detective force at Chicago tliat the gang was composed of ex-convicts. Two of the gang, Rich and Wood, are in jail awaiting trial, and pictures of all three have been sent over the country. Walter llice, the sanctimonious looking rnember of the trio, is a clever burglar whose real name is Harry Merrill, who has served one term in Joliet and another in the Chicago house oí correction. Wood is Dennis Ryan, alias McGuire, and Tip-o-Tip is Andrew Kelly, the Zulu. It was while the three were in the Chicago house of correctiou that they planned the novel scheme which they worked with such success in Detroit and Toledo. The present whereabouts of Tip-o-Tip is as yet unknowu.
