Matthew J. Sullivan, of Chicago, son of Jeremiah T. Sullivan, of this city, met with a sudden death last Sunday night which is shrouded in considerable mystery. He was found by the patrol on a railroad track with lus skull broken on one side of his head and niarks showing where he feil on the other side. líe w-as known to have had money on his person which he displayed in a cigar store, where last seen alive while paying for some cigars. One of the theories concerning liis death is thathewas murdered for his money and placed on the track. Another is thathe wasstruck by a passing train. He wasatally clerkin the stock yards of Nelson Morrison & Co. For several years he run the mail wagon in this city. The funeral services were held, Wednesday, in St. Thomas cluirch in this city.
