Report Of The Ann Arbor Schools
From the excellent annual report of Superintendent Perry of the Ann Arbor public schools we glean the following interesting facts: The total enrollment in the schools of the city last year was 2,155, f which 448 were non-resident dents. There were 705 students i the high school, 538 in the grammar department and 912 in the primary. The enrollraent is 119 more than the preceding year. The schools have 10 men teachers and 38 women teachers. The cost per capita for instruction was $16.66 and for incidentals, S3.00. The average daily attendance has been 1,740. The non-resident pupils were distributed as follows: High school, 348; grammarschool, 52; primary schools, 4& In the high school the greatest number of students were studying general English, there being 441 in these classes. There were 369 studying algebra; 272, latin; 213 U. S. history; 204, general history; 200 arithmetic, and the balance of the studies had a lesser number of students. Germán was the next most popular language after Latin, there being 156 engaged in its study.
