Frank Smith was in tnis piace on Sunday. J. Stoll was the guest of Chelsea friends last Sunday. Nick Reid was in Pinckney on business last Friday. T. Benedict and W. Eagles were in Detroit on Tuesday. James McCabe took a trip to Detroit one day last week. Miss Emma Riche Sundayed with herparents at Anderson. Miss Mary Flood is entertaining her friend for a few days. Mrs. J. Costello spent Monday with relatives in Pinckney. John Ledwedge, of Hamburg, was here the first of the week. Mrs. Butler spent several days of last week with friends here. Miss Kitty Irwin, of Ann Arbor, is the guest of Miss Eva Hiu. Mr. and Mrs. J. Croarkin were Ann Arbor visitors on Monday. The Dexter people broke up camp at Portage lake on Wednesday. The Misses Taylor were theguests of Pinckney friends last Fridtey. It is rumored Dexter is to have a new meat market in the near future. The Misses Fleming visited at their uncle's in Webster on Sunday. Mrs. Bowler's guest from Detroit has returned home to attend school. Mrs. Garry Briggs is spending a few weeks with her brother at Saginaw. Frank Fields, of Ann Arbor, spent the past week with oldfriends here. Will Rosier, of Webster, made a cali on friends here the last of the week. Mr. Fred Warner and Eddy Day visited in this place one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Wright, of Mason, called on friends hëre the last of the week. Mr. Sprout, of Pinckney, was the guest of friends here one day last week . A party of Ann Arbor people broke up camp on Base lake last week. Miss May Brogan, of Marión, is visiting her grand-mother in this place. The Congregational Sunday school picniced at Portage lake last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Cobb, sr., entertained friends from Stockbridge last week. Mrs. Wm. Hooker and daughter, Maude, visited in this place on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong, of Podunk, spent Sunday with friends in this place. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler, of South Putnam, visited with friends here on Wednesday. Mrs. Chas. Carpenter left Saturday for Ann Arbor to visit relatives for a short time. Mr. and Mrs. George Connors and baby visited with Pinckney friends, Thursday. Burt Taylor and sister spent the last of the week with their grandparents in Northfield. Miss Agnes Cope, of Ypsilanti, is visiting her cousin, Miss Katie McCabe, for a few weeks. Mrs. Bennett spent several days of the past week with her daughter, Mrs. Rodman, of this place. Mr. Lyman, of Pinckney, was upon our streets looking after old friends the first of the week. Mrs. A. Watson and sons, Albert and Charles, of Unadilla, called on old friends here the past week. L. L. James will move his stock of drugs and books into part of the store occupied by the Spooner Bros. Miss Verónica Sweetman is having the pleasure of entertaining her friend from Detroit for a few weeks. Miss Myrtella Reason, of Pinckney, accompanied by her friend from Detroit, was here last Wednesday. A number from this place took advantage of the cheap excursión to Detroit, last Tuesday, and visited the exposition. Mrs. P. Lavey and daughter, May, and Miss Joe Harris, were called to Pinckney on Monday to attend the funeral of their uncle. Miss Phena Costello, teacher in the Dexter high school, who has been spending her vacation with her sister in New York city, returned home last Saturday evening. Miss Blanche Cushman, accom panied by friends from Toledo Manchester, and Chelsea, have re turned home after a few days o camp life at Cavanaugh lake. A number of the young peopl from this place will hold an invitec basket picnic at Portage bluffs Saturday, Sept. 10. They will b chaperoned by Mrs. Story, Mrs John Hill, Mrs. H. McCabe an Mrs. Mowers. Good music will b furnished and lunch will be servec A good time is looked for by all.
