Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Freer spent a few days at Plynrouth last week. Will Guerin's family, of Ypsilanti, spent part of last week visiting Mrs. O. B. Guerin. Miss Inez Stocking will commence wielding the rod in the Jewett District, Sept. 19. The citizens of Lima want more protection. Their supervisor (a Republican) lives in Chelsea. J. E. Cooley and sister, Mrs. Brink, of Coldwater, are visiting Mr. Cooley's daughter, Mrs. J. Wood. Prof. Bartholomew made a balloon ascensiĆ³n at Jackson, Monday, and landed in John Alen's orchard all right. Miss May Wood, Miss Mabel Fletcher, Lewis and Willie Stocking and Benny McClaren, of Lima, have entered Chelsea high school this week. Will Clancey, of Lima, and Mr. Spirnagle, of Chelsea, went to Jacksoh Labor Day. In the evening they hired a room and not knowing the consequence blew out the gas. When found Mr. Clancy was dead. Jt is thought Mr. Spirnagle will recover.
