Pat Sloan was here on business, Monday. Wirt Carpenter now drives a new top buggy. Mrs. Vernon was in Jackson one day last week. P. Lavey lost one of his work horses last week. Will Dolan visited with Pinckney relatives, Friday. A. Voorhis was in Pinckney on business, Friday. Miss Kate McCabe is entertaining friendsfrom abroad. Otis Cushing, of Webster, visited friends here Sunday. John Gallagher was a Chelsea visitor one day last week. A large crowd from here attended the county fair last week. Miss Libbie O'Neill visited with friends in Ann Arbor last week. Mr. Stannard and family were at the lakes several days last week. Mrs. Denn is visiting her dau;hter in Minnesota for a few months. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ballon spent Sunday with friends at Pettysville. The Misses Clark, of Chelsea, visited their cousins here, Monday. Miss Bertha Spooncr has opened a rnillinery shop over G. Wall's store. Mr. Watts, of Lyndon, spent Sunday with his daughter in this place. Fred Warner and family spent the last of the week with relatives at Howell. Mrs. Simpson has returned home after several days' visit with friends at Leslie. Wm, Cobb spent several days of the past week with his sister at ' Cohoctah. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler, of Putnam, called on old friends here, Saturday. Will and Burt Taylor spent Sunday with their grandparenls in Northfield. Miss Sarah Taylor is attending the University School of Music at Ann Arbor. Mrs. M. Robinson and baby are spending a few days with her parents in Ypsilanti. ' J. Parsons, of Jackspn, spent the latter part of the week with his brothers here. Mr. and Mrs. ,P. Lavey and family Sundayed with her brother at North Lake. Mr. McDonald, of Hamburg, shook hands with friends here the first of the week. Messrs. Coyle and Shehan spent the last of the week with John McCabe and family. Mrs. S. Reason and children, of Stockbridgej are the guests of her aunt in this place. Miss Eva Hill, who has been spending a few days at Ann Arbor. has returned home. The little son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Howard died last Tuesday and was buried, Wednesday. Mrs. H. W. Newkirkand daughter, Nelliè, of Luther,are visitingher parents in this place. Mr. and Airs. L. D. Alley and family spent Saturday with her mother at 1 inckney. T. Dolan and family were called to Pinckney, Monday, to attend the funeral of a relative. Mr. and Mrs. james Henry, of Pettysville, spent Sunday with friends in this place. Miss Lydia Stoll left Thursday morning for Ann Arbor, where she will spend the winter. Miss M. Vincent returned to Ann Arbor, Monday after a few weeks' stay with her cousins here. Mrs. H. Carpenter and daughter, Cynthia, spent the last of the week with friends in Pinckney and vicinity. A. Taylor was called to Unadilla, Sunday, to see his brother, who is quite sick. His daughter Mary accompanied him.
