Mrs. C. Crandle feil and broke her riglit arm last week, bnt seems to be doing wcll at last ïiccouiit. The Milan band was one of the many bands that played at the Demoeratie njass meeting, Monda?. Air. R. Waterman, of Ann Arbor higli school, yisited his grandfather, J. C. House, Saturday and Sunday. Mesdamea Ilill and Putman went to Detroit on their bicycles last week and ure visitingamong friends this week Dr. Colhoun has retúrned from Mt. Tlie Columbian exercises at the Milan high school were very ing, and the rooms were fllled with visitors who feit well entertained. Mr. and Mis. A. 1). Jackon have returned from Durand, where they went last Wednesday, to attend the-reunion of companiesD. and G.,8ixth Michigan Cavalry. Hon. Jerome W. Turner, of Ou drew a ful] house, Friday evening, and held the audience nearly two hourè. He is a brilliant and humorous talker. Saturday evening Hon. James O'Donnell, M. C, spoke to a crowded bonse. Mr. O'Donnell is an easy and pleasant talker and the audience was well pleased with the gentleman. Mrs. II. E. Howard is circulating a petition asking the governor of New York to pardon lmr husband, '. K. Howard, who is in Sing Sing for the Electric Sugar Fraud. Xo one has iefused to sign so far. 1 he races at the Mihui Park, Saturday, were well attended. No. 4, i Detroit gentleman, won the flrst prize at the No. 1 half-mile open race. It was h beautiful solid onyx frame clock. The one mile handicap race was wou by E. C. Ilinkley, of Milan. The prize was a beautiful Victoria fruit dish. The one mile 3 minute race was won by Detroit. Prize, lady's gold filled watch. The horse racing was won by Thurlow T. against Texas Jim, for a ■?60 purse.
