A Minnesota apiarian advises plenty of honey, young queens and a number of bees as the greatest considerations. Where the hives do not contain at least twenty pounds of sealed stores the bees should be fed sugar sirup up to that weight. The feeding should be done as early as possible, so as to be well sealed efore cOld weather. The American Bee Journal indorses the foregoing and ernphasizes "strong colonies, with plenty of healtliful stores, as important essenials in safe wintering of bees.'"
