The ernployment of land piaster in atables is urged for two purposes; it not only deodorizes and disinfects the stable, thereby contributing to the health gf attendants and animáis, but it prevenís the esca,pe and going to waste of the most valuable properties of the food consvimed by the stock. In a recent plea to farmers to try land piaster from one pint to one quart daily for each animal, Hoard's Dairyman says: "If its affinity for ammouia or nitrogen is so strong that it will gather this valuable fertilizer froin the atmosphere, the dews and rains, how invalnable must it be in stubles to take up and hold the same volatile element!"
