That it was a handsome defeatwillbe testifled to by the large number of Republicana in this and the other counties of the district who put up their money on his election. Ypsilanti Republicans, by the way, made some of the Ann Arbor Democrats several hundred dollars richer, through their faith in O'Donnell. O'Donnell is not content, however, to drop out oí Washington. He now has his eye üpon the senatorship, for which Luce and Stockbridge are contending so vigorously and with so mucli apparent bad blood.
