Snow eight inches deep and still snowing. Many of the Milanites are harvesting their ice this week. Mr. T. Barnes, of Dundee, visited Milan friends, Sunday. Rev. C. B. Case and wifc were in town the first of the weck. Mr. McMurry left för his home at Niágara Falls,. Monday morning. The band fair and concert closed Friday evening with a fine program. Mrs. E. C. Hinkley entertained Mrs. Lemmon, of Ypsilanti, Friday. The thermometer registered nine degrees below zero this (Tuesday) morning. The Baptist missionary society met at Mrs. C. M. Fuller's Wednesday afternoon. The Presbyterian ladies hold their tea social at Mrs. Dr. Palmer's, Tuesday evening. Little Deo Blackmer, Mrs. Needham, Mr. J. C. Rouse, and Mrs. L. Burnham are all on the sick list this weeK. Mrs. Minto left for Vernon, Mich., Monday morning, where she will visit her mother, Mrs. Wilkinson, for a few weeks. Mr. R. Ostrander, of Stockbridge, joined his family, who has been visiting here for several weeks, Monday morning, and will put in the rest of the week visiting friends and relatives in this vicinity. Milton Hitchcock's house came near being consumed by fire, Friday morning. How the fire started is still a mystery; but it started, and but for the timely assistance of the firemen and neighbors there would have been nothing but a pile of ashes to mark the place where the house stood. The building and contents were insured. SaturdayMr. and Mrs. M. Barnes and son, Prof. Denison, and Mr. and Mrs. Morris Day, were invited to celébrate Mrs. A. Day's birthday. Mr. A. Day and family live not far frorn Ypsilanti, and it is a jolly place to visit, as they have learned the part of entertaining to perfection,and thepartiesmentioned all went and stayed until Sunday evening. They reported an interesting visit and hope that Mrs. Day may live to enjoy many more birthdays.
